The prophecy
The Prophecy has been a fundamental part of Yarl since his earliest appearance, but it was publicly proclaimed on December 6, 2015, when an anonymous user posted Yarl on 4chan’s Robot9000 board. The user, together with many others who had grown tired of Pepe the Frog, embraced a new mission. Yarl would rise and replace Pepe. From this shared purpose, the Cult of Anonymous Yarlers was born.
According to the teachings of the Yarliverse, the Prophecy had already been fulfilled beyond the physical world. What happened in 2015 was its manifestation into our reality. From that moment onward, Yarl’s physical presence, community, and influence have continued to evolve.
Pepe’s creator, Matt Furie known within Yarlistan as Yatt Furie famously attempted to symbolically kill and bury Pepe after the character became associated with political extremism and controversy. Within Yarlian lore, this marked the ending of an old era and opened the path for something new to emerge.
Now begins a new era of internet culture and memes, with Yarl teh Gawd leading the way.
